I have already tried insoles. Why would this be different?
An insole works under your foot — it cannot do anything about the layer around it. The cushion here is knitted into the sock, where the heel and the forefoot land, so it moves with your foot instead of sitting under it.
Can these handle 8–12 hours on my feet?
That is what they were built for — dense pads under the heel and the ball of the foot, thin everywhere else so they never pack out your boot.
My ankles get a red ring and my calves get choked.
The cuff is wide and ribbed. It holds with width instead of one tight band, which is the point our customers mention most after the cushioning.
My feet sweat a lot in closed boots.
There is no cotton and no wool in them — the two fibres that soak sweat and hold it against your skin. Nylon and polyester push it out, and mesh panels vent the top of the foot.
