Feet That Feel 90 At 55? 10 Reasons Women Are Quietly Switching To These Hidden Cushion Socks
Feet That Feel 90 At 55? 10 Reasons Women Are Quietly Switching To These Hidden Cushion Socks

1. IT'S NOT YOUR AGE. IT'S THE PADDING UNDER YOUR HEEL.

It's not in your head either. The natural cushion under your heel gets thinner over the years, and many women first notice it around the menopause. “By age 50, you may have lost nearly half of the fatty padding on the soles of your feet,” according to Harvard Health. Your socks never changed. These put a dense knitted cushion back under the heel and the ball of the foot.
2. ALL THE CUSHION. NONE OF THE SOCK.

A thick knitted cushion under your heel and the ball of your foot, cut low so it disappears inside your trainers. UCLA Health lists cushioned socks among the first things podiatrists suggest when that padding thins, and GroundGuard has been tested on real job sites. Nothing shows above your shoe.
3. NO CUFF ROUND YOUR CALF. NO RED RING AT NIGHT.

By teatime your ankles have puffed up, and ordinary socks bite a groove into them. These stop just at the ankle bone with a soft, low cuff. One verified buyer with arthritic ankles and swollen legs: “I didn't once have to pull them down… hardly any marking to the top of my leg.”
4. FEET THAT RUN HOT FINALLY GET SOME AIR

The menopause turns the heat up everywhere, feet included. Less sock means less heat trapped against your skin. Zero cotton, zero wool, and a breathable knit over the top of the foot that lets the heat out.
5. WORKS WITH THE SHOES YOU ACTUALLY WEAR

Trainers, ballet flats, clogs, loafers. A low cut that hides inside all of them, so you get real cushioning on the days you'd never wear a chunky sock. One drawer of socks for every pair of shoes.
6. STAYS PUT ALL DAY. NO SLIPPING UNDER YOUR HEEL.

Cheap trainer socks creep down and bunch under your heel by lunchtime. These have a deep heel pocket that keeps them where they belong, from the morning school run to the last job of the evening.
7. TEN HOURS ON THE SHOP FLOOR OR TEN MINUTES TO THE SHOPS

Whether you stand behind a counter all day or you're simply on your feet at home, a hard floor hits your heels in the same place. A verified buyer, after one day: “After a day of walking on concrete, my feet weren't as tired.” And nobody knows you're wearing anything special.
8. THEY DON'T GO THIN AT THE HEEL

Soft socks that wear through in a month: you've had them. GroundGuard is double-knitted at the heel and toe and goes in the machine with everything else. If a pair ever tears inside a year, we replace it free.
9. 99 DAYS TO MAKE UP YOUR MIND

Wear them. Wash them. Live in them for three months. If they aren't the most comfortable socks you've ever owned, send them back, worn or washed, and get your money back. No forms, no questions, no awkward phone call.
10. “I AM 65. I'M ON MY FEET NINE HOURS A DAY.”

That's Victoria, a verified buyer, about her ankle pair. More than 70,000 pairs of GroundGuard are already on people's feet. Buy 3 pairs, get 3 free: three for you, and three for a sister or the friend who's always rubbing her heels.

Frequently asked questions
Which size do I pick?
Ankle: S fits US 5.5–7.5 (UK 3–5), M fits US 8.5–11 (UK 6–8.5), L fits US 11.5–14.5 (UK 9–12), XL fits US 15–15.5 (UK 12.5–13).
Crew: the same S, M and L.
If your feet have gone up a size in the last few years, go by the size you wear now. Between two sizes, take the larger one.
Will they show above my shoes?
Only the very top of the cuff, right at the ankle bone. They are a low ankle sock, not an invisible liner, so they stay put and still cushion your heel.
Ankle or crew?
Ankle for trainers, flats, clogs and warmer days. Crew for boots, colder days and a little extra warmth up the leg. Same cushioning, same knit.
Is this about the menopause?
Partly. Many women first notice sore heels and tired feet somewhere around the menopause, when the natural cushion under the foot gets thinner. GroundGuard is not a medical product and doesn't treat anything. It puts a knitted cushion back under the heel and the ball of the foot, keeps your feet dry and never squeezes your ankle.
Are they any good for sore heels and arches?
GroundGuard has been tested on real job sites, and the cushioning sits right where sore heels and arches feel it most: under the heel, the arch and the ball of the foot.
